Honor the WASP with WAI! Each year, WAI members across the country honor the WASP by visiting their graves and leaving flowers. Each year the Boston chapter selects a WASP to honor by learning about their story and honoring their memory. Save the date for this meaningful experience. Come celebrate the holiday season and our first year as an official chapter! Wear your holiday pj’s or your favorite ugly sweater. There will be sugar cookies and hot cocoa.
Donations of gently used clothing will be accepted in support of a local women’s shelter!

Geek is Glam! Girl Scout STEM Expo
Join WAI Boston Chapter as we team up with the New England 99's for Geek is Glam! This is a Girl Scout STEM event taking place on Sunday, October 13th at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). We will be hosting a workshop titled "Let your Dreams Take Flight: An Introduction to Aviation" for girls in 4th and 5th grade.
The girls will rotate through different workshops throughout the day. WAI/99's will be hosting four workshops between 9:30 and 3:30. We will have an hour break in between to grab a bite to eat. There is also an opportunity to host a booth in the exhibition hall if you'd like to stay until 4:45. Join us for a half or full day of fun!



Coffee with Controllers
We are joining up with air traffic controllers from Portland, ME for this event! Join us for a good old fashioned meet and greet. Ever wonder why controllers do the things they do? This is your chance to ask! Q&A session beginning at 10 am.

Honor the WASP
WAI members honor the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) every Memorial Day weekend by visiting their graves and leaving an appropriate decoration in the form of flowers or other remembrances.
This year we will be honoring 4 WASPs here in Massachusetts and learning about each of their stories!

General Membership Meeting
Our next chapter meeting is on May 13th at 6:30 pm at the American Heritage Museum. Join us for a little business and a lot of fun! We will be voting on an update to the bylaws followed by a private tour of the museum and their military vehicle collection including some historically significant, “one of a kind” airplanes! This is one event you don’t want to miss!

Women in the Night Sky
Jenny Powers, an expert in the field of astronomy, will relate the many important contributions made by women in histroy to a better and more complete understanding of the skies above us.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the museum the night of the event. We will be meeting beforehand at Backyard Brewery and Pub in Manchester NH (just 5 minutes away!) at 5:00 pm.

Amelia Earhart: Pioneer in Aviation
See Sheryl Faye portray Amelia’s indomitable spirit and passion for flying in this multi-media, one-woman show.
